Owner, For Keeps Pet Training, LLC
Andrea Loomis is a Certified Veterinary Technician and professional dog trainer with over two decades of hands-on experience in animal care and behavior. She earned her AAS in Veterinary Technology from Argosy University in 2005 and maintains her CVT certification in good standing with the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association.
Andrea began her career in small animal practice in 2003, working in general and emergency veterinary settings across Minnesota. Her work sparked a deep interest in animal behavior—specifically how it affects veterinary visits, daily interactions, and the human-animal bond.
Driven by her passion to be an advocate for pets and a trusted resource for their owners, Andrea pursued specialized training in animal behavior. She was accepted into the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy and earned certification as a Karen Pryor Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP), where she mastered positive, science-based training methods.
Andrea is also an Elite Certified Fear Free Professional, committed to reducing fear, anxiety, and stress in animals, and holds Silver-Level Low Stress Handling® Certification, based on the teachings of Dr. Sophia Yin.
Her professional certifications require ongoing education and uphold a high standard of ethics and care.
A New Prague, Minnesota native, Andrea lives with her husband, six children, two dogs (Livi and Bean), and two cats (Happy and Stinky). Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
